Designer Profile: A.F. Vandevorst

Belgians An Vandevorst and Filip Arickx graduated from at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Antwerp in 1991.
After graduating Vandervorst worked under Dries Van Noten and Arickx worked as a freelance designer and stylist until 1998 when they launched A.F. Vandevorst.
The label won France's Venus de la Mode Award for future top designer in 1998.
Intellectual but artful, the label is known for its tailored, sporty looks, deftly employing layering and asymmetry. The color palette centers around deep hues of black, greys and neutrals.
After several seasons of designing womenswear, the label launched its shoe line in 2003 and a lingerie collection in 2006.
