Designer Profile: A.F. Vandevorst

  • Belgians An Vandevorst and Filip Arickx graduated from at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Antwerp in 1991.
  • After graduating Vandervorst worked under Dries Van Noten and Arickx worked as a freelance designer and stylist until 1998 when they launched A.F. Vandevorst.
  • The label won France's Venus de la Mode Award for future top designer in 1998.
  • Intellectual but artful, the label is known for its tailored, sporty looks, deftly employing layering and asymmetry. The color palette centers around deep hues of black, greys and neutrals.
  • After several seasons of designing womenswear, the label launched its shoe line in 2003 and a lingerie collection in 2006.
