Last January, we had occasion to visit Echo Park. We dropped by Han Cholo and on a whim bought the above T-shirt in its black version. We didn't think much of it at the time.
Seven months later, this simple little T-shirt is our favorite. The fit is perfect, not American Apparel tight, not thugged out loose and long. The cotton is ridiculously soft. After countless washes, the black color is still nearly as deep and dark as it was when we bought it. Among all the different T-shirts we've bought over the years, this Han Cholo shirt is a cut above the rest.
We contacted them recently inquiring who makes their shirts so we could buy ourselves a few plain black shirts and they let us know that these shirts are cut-and-sewn for Han Cholo especially. Impressive for a small operation for whom T-shirts isn't even their main business.
Anyway, our point is if you're ever around Echo Park and even remotely like one of Han Cholo's designs, buy it. Buy it now.
