Something tells us you're going to be seeing a lot more of Hope in places other than Sweden. Started by partners Ann Ringstrand and Stefan Soderberg in 2001, the label has a well-developed collection of women's and men's clothing and accessories. And it's the type of stuff that will travel well--distinctive enough to make it special, versatile enough to make it essential.
Bird in Brooklyn is the only US stockist we could find.

Actually, Opening Ceremony, Bloomingdale's and Project no.8 all stock this brand in NYC. There's lots of it already this Fall.

i absolutely adore hope's stuff -- discovered them late 2006 in berlin (can't think of the name of the shop but it's on neue schoenhauser allee, sort of kitty-corner from best shop) and have since picked up a number of pieces -- short wool blazer, cotton jacket with a high collar, big heavy wool coat, cotton pinstripe shirt w/ detachable collar -- and they're all fantastic. i don't think i've ever had more comments from random strangers (on the street, in the airport, wherever) about my clothing. very distinctive designs, well made, great price point. anyone know any online retailers carrying it? googling "hope" doesn't do a hell of a lot of good.
