Rogue's Gallery

By Ara Anjargolian | 17 August 2006, 5:35 PM

Rogue's Gallery was founded several years ago out of Portland, Maine by designer Alex Carleton. The idea was to create T-shirts that evoked the naval/marine culture that has been part of the Northeast for many generations. The result was a line of T-shirts, and increasingly shirts, sweaters and accessories, with a unique aesthetic.

Sure, we like the line because the graphics are interesting, but we also like it because it seems genuine. This is not a case of just getting any old or old-looking graphics, putting them on T-shirts and selling them to hip boutiques for a quick buck. They seem earnestly interested and engaged in what they do (and we suppose being based in Portland instead of say New York or LA helps alot).
