Wood Wood

Most probably associate Danish design with the mid-century modern furniture masters. And while we love Hans J. Wegner and Arne Jacobsen as much as next person walking down the street, a visit to Danmark a little while back made us notice Danish fashion. Wood Wood is one of our favorite Danish fashion success stories.

Wood Wood is the brand/store of Magnus Cartensen, Brian Jensen and Karl Oskar. For a cool little intro, click below to see a 3-minute spot they did for Adidas' Adicolor sneaker releases.

They could have easily become another streetwear store with a line of T-shirts and were just that in 2002. But these boys from Copenhagen were ambitious. Their store carried some fashion lines alongside the streetwear. They did collaborations with sportswear brands. They opened a second store in 2005 and Fall 2005 was their first full collection for men and women.

That would make their Fall/Winter 2006 line just their third full line. They've come a long way in a short time.

You can find Wood Wood at Kickback in Berlin, I Heart in New York, Colette in Paris and The Glade (men's only) online.

If that's not enough for you, check out their website where they have a limited number of items from their stores for sale (they ship to the US for $40 by the way).

Here's a collaboration shirt they did for Fred Perry.
