Karen Walker sunglasses at Mick Margo
That most luxury labels quickly license their eyewear rights as soon as their brand is strong enough to get offers is a testament to how lucrative such a transaction can be. That Maison Martin Margiela has not only licensed said rights but has not even up to this point put out a single pair of sunglasses with its name on it is a testament to how different of an operation Margiela runs. This is all a rather long-winded way of saying Margiela is releasing its first pair of sunglasses in collaboration with Italian eyewear manufacturer Marcolin. The glasses are named "L'Incognito" but anyone who wears them about town will be anything but--an irony that's certainly not lost on Margiela. Available at Margiela stores worldwide and select multi-brand boutiques starting February 2008.
Eyeglasses don't exactly lend themselves to online shopping but don't blame Contacts & Specs for trying. The Chicago eyewear shop, the latest to be suggested into the guide, carries one of the best selections of hip eye and sun glasses we've ever seen, with high-end labels from Europe and Japan. Considering that even in some major cities like LA this type of selection is hard to find, the shop is a fantastic resource whether you're in Chicago or shopping online.
For online shoppers the store even offers a personalized service wherein you tell them what you're looking for and send them a picture and they'll Photoshop some glasses onto your face to give you an idea of what they'll look like. Now that's good online service!

Pieces from the collection we pictured alongside our interview with Rachel Comey are now available at Oak.
For those shoe addicts out there, you should definitely include a pair Ms. Comey's shoes in your collection. We saw them in person at her studio and they're exquisitely constructed, the wooden heels in particular.
In other Oak news, Henrik Vibskov's collection is starting to arrive. His unisex sunglasses, available in black, red and white, are our favorite accessory of the season.
Selima Optique is today's addition to the shopping guide. While carrying a lot of great European eyewear lines, the New York institution is best known for its own line fun, funky frames.
First on our shopping list frames named after Greek shipping magnate, and entrepenuerial idol of Jargol.com, Aristote Onassis. When we become shipping magnates (part 13 of the 28 part Jargol.com business plan), we will certainly buy ourselves a few pairs of these frames.
For a less imposing pair, there's the easy breezy Patric.
Or you could try one of Selima's most popular frames, the Harley
For fun frames with a distinctively European feel, Selima Optique is second to none.
