April 77's Fall/Winter 07-08 collection is called "Martini Time"--a modern take on Rock 'n Roll '60s style.
Imagine a fashion collection inspired by molecular gastronomy and we're betting you don't come up with something like Anntian's Fall/Winter '08 collection. The German fashion line looks to the scientific and the geometric for its inspiration and comes up with a minimalist treatment combining high-quality fabrics, wearable fits and abstract prints. Last summer it was all about stripes, the previous winter was a celebration of the square and this winter we have subtle gradients and not so subtle multi-dot patterns, meant to represent the aesthetics of molecular cuisine.
Available at Ooga Booga.
While we look to recently-mentioned Tres-Bien for the color-drenched, arty side of directional fashion, for more brooding, dark fashion pieces we've found no better than Barcelona's Doshaburi. Even if their online store is in Japanese only (seriously, if there's one country where this stuff wouldn't be hard to find, it'd be Japan) and we're not planning any trips to the Old Country any time soon, we still like to admire.
Recently, Swedish online shop Tres Bien took a few weeks off to redo their site, mainly to make it work with multiple languages and currencies. This being done, the new site launch a few days ago with the beginnings of what promises to be an excellent fall selection.
New York boutique Mick Margo is now full of Fall 2007 inventory. Alongside previous seasons' favorites like Isabel Marant and Alexander Wang are a host of items from newer, relatively unknown designers.
Call Mick Margo for prices and availability.
Imperial Walkers, bondage and everything in between influenced Pleasure Principle's Fall 2007 collection. Just arrived at Seven.
It's going to be a fun fall at Scout. Jeremy Scott is thinking '50s with beehive hairdos and guitar knits. Henrik Vibskov is exploring patterns of all types--blue and black checks on a mohair cape, an African print on a cardigan, a jellybean print on a windbreaker. Three As Four is continuing its study on fractals and circular cuts.
All are now available online, but you'll want to visit their LA shop for a full selection.
We last saw Raf by Raf Simons when a preview of the season's collection was put on their website. While the preview looked bold and wacky--what with the silver jeans and shiny striped pants--as pieces have started to make their way into stores we're seeing the same details (shine, stripes in primary colors) show up in many pieces of the collection in more subtle ways.
There's a lot more where this came from, but Jumelle has begun to post their Fall 2007 collections.
(Direct links not available, just go to their site.)
Another season at Elizabeth Charles means another round of new and interesting Australian and Kiwi designers to discover. This season is no exception. For us, two designers in particular distinguished themselves.
LIFEwithBIRD showed distinctive prints and attractive silhouettes.
We featured Youthworld's collection in the spring and their fall collection of structured pieces softened with feminine details is notable as well.
