Kling by Kling dragon socks at Kronkron (£30)
Capturing the spirit of Gareth Pugh's surreal presentations and turning them into wearable, rack ready pieces seems an almost intractable problem. But his team is showing themselves capable of doing it, because with every season we see more of Pugh's looks being translated to retail. Seven has a the latest from his Fall 2008 collection and the funny thing is they probably don't even rank in the top 3 most audacious lines currently at Seven (see their Bernhard Willhelm or Romain Kremer looks for example). Which isn't to say they aren't kind of awesome, because they are.

Comme des Garcons' guerilla stores are meant to be temporary experiments in avant-garde retail. But in the case of the very first guerilla store that opened in Berlin in 2004 the experiment didn't stop when CdG left town. The organizers of the store continued the operation, reincarnated as Lil Shop. Lil Shop sells vintage Comme des Garcons and Junya Watanbe in addition to CdG accessories, selections from the current season, and various other accessories. The shop resigned their site late last year, and now offers online shopping.

So far since working on Jargol we've ordered stuff online from Japan, England, Sweden, and, we have a feeling Spain will be added to the list very soon. Doshaburi, a Barcelona shop we've been ogling from afar finally added an online shop w/ worldwide shipping (previously they had a Japan only shop). Right now there are a bunch of sale items left from the Fall 2007 collections, while the Spring 2008 stuff is just starting to roll in.

Today, kind readers, we need to tell you that you guys rock. In the past few weeks we've gotten a slew of suggestions for our guide and they've been better than we could have ever hoped for. We've gotten stores in Seattle, New York and Zurich, selling avant-garde fashion, mid-century modern furnishings and vintage jewelry and accessories; they've been a joy to research and add to the guide. Which brings us to Sefton, suggested just last week.
The pair of boutiques in the Islington neighborhood of London carry an admirable variety of men's and women's clothing and accessories. The mix of design in the shops is simply fabulous.
They have high-end fashion standards like Alexander McQueen, Stella McCartney, Paul Smith and Martin Margiela.
Sometimes we dig deep and tread far to find new, cool shops to talk about, and sometimes they land on our doorstep. Fatal falls squarely in the latter scenario, we learned of it only via a short suggestion message a little while ago. While still young, the stores shows much promise in its selection of edgy, avant-garde fashion sprinkled with some more classic pieces.
Two items of import at Creatures of Comfort.
One: just in time for the looming crisper climes, new styles of knee socks and tights from Hansel From Basel.
And two: buy 3 or more sale items (already 50-70% off) and receive an additional 20% off. Now that's a good deal if we ever saw one.
