New Junk in Greenpoint

By Lyndsy Welgos | 07 December 2009, 1:40 AM

Junk has opened a new store in Greenpoint Brooklyn. The classic Brooklyn store which opened its first location in heart of Williamsburg a few years ago has now expanded to the nearby neighborhood of Greenpoint. Upon entering, I immediately found at least five new keepsakes to take home without skipping a beat. This location seems to be much more organized and have better prices too. I believe the furniture is better but, I wasn't totally sure if this was actually true or if its just not as piled on top of each other as it can be in the original location.

There is an amazing selection of antique architectural pieces on the front porch which is really exciting for anyone who is renovating their barn this winter in Brooklyn.

Latest Suggestions: Histoire, Aardewerk en Zo, Mondo Trasho

Our worldwide collection of fashion shops is filling out nicely, but our listing of vintage furniture shops isn't too far behind. Recently we had a quick succession of thre vintage furniture shops suggested to us, two in The Netherlands, one in Australia.

Histoire, in the town of Arnhem in The Netherlands specializes in mid-century modern design. Whether new production or vintage, they have quite a beautiful collection. If you find something you must have at any cost, they do ship worldwide.

Also in The Netherlands, Aardewerk en Zo specializs in pottery of the 20th century, but has also assembled quite the collection of furniture designed by Paul Cadovius.

Finally from the Melbourne metro. area we have Mondo Trasho. They might be half way across the world from Histoire, but the shop has quite the similar taste in furnishings. Again we have mid-century modern chairs, tables and lights in excellent condition.
