Telfar released a collabration project Un.Der T with American Apparel at
Eva on the Bowery last week.
Jargol was there to check the new collection which consists of organic cotton T's offered
by American Apparel for Telfar to work his magic on.
Un.Der T is classic Telfar with heavy emphasis on geometric shapes but the twist with this collection is the uncharacteristically bright colors.

That Swedish menswear label Odeur still has no US stockist becomes more puzzling every season. What was basically a well-styled T-shirt line when we first covered them has become a complete menswear line, managing to maintain it's unique aesthetic each step of the way. But with an ever growing roster of Swedish and Japanese stockists, and with being picked up by the UK's Oki-Ni for fall, a US stockist is likely imminent. Meanwhile, thank God for online shopping and worldwide shipping.
Available at Oki-Ni, Doshaburi and Freudian Kicks.
Soup & Fish has a dual purpose. One is to promote and advance Austrian design. The other is to give people access to high-end fashion design at affordable prices. On both initiatives, the shop is doing a superlative job.
The shop's virtual shelves are kept stocked with pieces from nearly every Austrian designer doing significant work today, with some Belgian and other European designers thrown in for good measure. But rather than offer their latest designs at typically high prices, the shop serves as a saleable archive of sorts, offering dozens of pieces from season past, as far as 10 years back. Each item is available in one or a handful of sizes and is marked with the season it came from. More than just a glimpse back to designers' earlier years, the collection speaks to the timelessness of good design. Almost any one of these items could be mistaken for work from a current season.

The modern, grungy clothing of New York wunderkind Alexander Wang are tailor made to be layered with various slouchy tees and tanks. That is the premise behind T by Alexander Wang, new for spring 2009. The line of tees, basic dresses and tanks feature lowered arm holes, elongated silhouettes and translucent thin cottons giving the look and shape of a well-worn wardrobe favorite.

The idea behind I Don't Like Mondays' "Gallery" project is to work with a succession of artists to create a series of one-of-a-kind pieces for the shop. In an era where limited edition fashion has lead to limitless profits, the handmade, literally unique and relatively affordable pieces are a most humble and honest way to conduct a collaborative endeavor. Artist Bruno Levy and his series of illustrated T-shirts and sneakers are an auspicious beginning to a project we'll be following closely.
They're based in Paris and have a knack for color blocked separates. Anything more you need to know about Issacymanu you'll have to find out yourself because we sure couldn't find much on the label.
Available at Doshaburi.

Last week, we reported on Oak's "Bond Age" collection set to debut on Monday, September 8th to celebrate fashion week and Oak's relatively new Bond Street location. To recap, Oak worked with some of their favorite designers to create limited edition products around the theme of bondage, available for sale at their Bond Street location as well as online from September 8th to September 11th.
The collection debuted online yesterday, and we have to say: it is one of the most inspired store/brand collaborations we have seen in quite some time. Some designers adapted their well established aesthetic to fit the bondage theme, like say Complex Geometries' jersey binder dress. Other's ventured completely out of their element (don't expect to see anything like Vena Cava's naked print T-shirt to appear in their next collection). But it was all in good fun and succeeded in producing some seriously cool, seriously sexy, and sometimes seriously raunchy designs.

On of the better retail endeavors we've seen in a while is certainly Très Bien's store in store concept. The idea of a store in a store--where a shop will carry most or all of a particular designers collection in a designated area of their space--is nothing new. But a store in store is not often done by a small boutique, nor does it usually happen simultaneously in the physical location and online. Last season, Tres Bien did a store in store with Swedish menswear label Our Legacy. This season they've added Danish fashion wunderkind Henrik Vibskov to the mix. If not in Sweden, you can follow the store in store action for Vibskov and Our Legacy here and here respectively. Meanwhile, we've picked out a few of our favorites so far below:

If you like their black acrylic triangle necklace, or their sterling silver spike earrings, then you're going to like Alex & Chloe's latest project. For Spring 2009 they are introducing a full line of T-shirts for men and women. The T-shirts are enzyme washed, come mostly in black and white, and ascribe to the same aesthetic as their jewelry line.
