  • The first Prada boutique was opened in Milan by Mario Prada in 1913 as a luxury leather goods store.
  • In 1989 Miuccia Prada, who has no formal fashion education, inherited the brand, debuted the first Prada ready-to-wear line on the Milan runway, and began the transformation of the small boutique into the fashion powerhouse known today.
  • Prada now produces menswear, womenswear, childrenswear, sportswear, handbags, accessories, fragrance, and beauty lines.
  • Prada is known for luxury, quality, and the transformation of traditional garments into unique, creative pieces. Even in its current incarnation as a luxury lifestyle brand, Prada has maintained an avant-garde, risk taking approach to fashion.
