- After studying at Pratt, American Samantha Pleet founded her eponymous label in 2005.
- Pleet's womenswear is rife with fantasy, whimsy and historical and literary references.
- Pirates, scoundrels, dandies and wenches have all made an appearance in Pleet's collections.
- In 2008, Pleet collaborated with Urban Outfitters for a special capsule collection called "Rapscallion."
