  • Stella McCartney, daughter of Beatle Sir Paul McCartney, was born in London and studied fashion at Central St. Martins.
  • McCartney began her eponymous label in 1995, but also worked as the chief designer of Chloé for five years before giving up the appointment to return focus to her own line.
  • In 2000, McCartney received the VH1/Vogue Designer of the Year award for her chic, slouchy, elegant, often monochromatic designs.
  • McCartney does not use fur or leather in her designs and supports PETA, however she does make use of animal-derived fabrics such as wool and silk.
