Architectural Salvage
Design magazines and shows are often full of tables made of old doors, picture frames made of window frames and other vintage items. The only problem is that short of buying a new door and "antiquing" it or searching endlessly at flea markets, it's difficult to translate the look into reality . . . until Architectural Salvage. The store is full of old doors and window frames, knobs and pulls, numbers and letters and anything else you can take away from old houses. No matter how design-challenged you may be, you will still be inspired by the sheer variety of stuff in this store. At the very least it will remind you of the old house you used to drive by (or live in), the old movie theater with only one screen or that beautiful building in a boarded-up downtown. Take a walk down memory lane and you'll probably bring some of it home with you.
