The aptly named bookstore stocks titles focusing on the building trade--a phenomenal resource for contractors and architects. Among urban design and architecture books are official building code books and electrical wiring guides. While the store isn't necessarily for amateurs, it will give you an idea of what is required for a particular project and while you may not be able to complete your home improvement project, you will at the very least be an educated consumer.
