Every bit a Berkeley institution as that other Berkeley institution (Go Bears!) Cody's Books has kept revolutionaries, sycophants and bums coming back for decades. The vast selection of books and magazines and the friendly service is nice, but the author readings are the real treasure. Pulitzer Prize winners, National Book Award recipients, poet laureates and best selling authors drop by with regularity. The current Telegraph location has been around since in 1965. And the Fourth Street location, well, it's across the street from Crate & Barrel.
