Earwax

Earwax is a wake-up song for the record shops that can't manage to recognize that indie rock has been around in one form or another for several score years. Sure they carry the latest underground/local indie buzz bands and the mainstream bands with indie roots. But the real draws are the myriad bands and singers that influenced the latest crop of indie upstarts. Expect Johnny Cash and Hank Williams in the country section, pioneers Kraftwerk representing electronic, lots of Dylan, jazz standards like Miles Davis and Thelonious Monk, mixed in with pop stars of yore like Nancy Sinatra.
