French 50s-60s
Say mid-century furniture and people will immediately assume you're taking the the Scandinavian and American furniture that was being designed by Eames, Nelson, McCobb and friends. French 50s-60s is like one giant signpost saying "Hey, the French were making furniture back then too you know!" So what is the furniture like? Well you'll definitely notice similarities to Danish and American furniture of the time but, quoting the store's website "French designs of the 50s and 60s are light with more acute angles than American and Danish designs which feature broader angles and heavier shapes" That's all well and good but you'll need to visit to get a real sense of the variety of designs, shapes and colors we're talking about. Some of it looks to be straight out of a French farmhouse, others you could imagine in a mid-century Paris pied-à-terre.
