Gimme Shoes
Gimme Shoes has been keeping San Francisco high society in heels for decades now. The store stocks only the finest, most stylish European shoes. There's nary a shoe to take a stroll in the neighborhood, but there are about a dozen ready for the opera. Which is not say the store is not neighborhood conscious--each location is stocked according to the clientele of its particular neighborhood. The store's stark, minimalist appearance can be intimidating, and we found the staff to be of the cold, all-business variety. Perhaps this is because they want the shoes to be the stars of the show. In that regard: mission accomplished.
