Buying and displaying sculpture seems a pastime reserved for museums and the fabulously wealthy. Not so at Pearce. The gallery displays the sleek and stunningly beautiful sculpture of Alma Allen. Using mainly wood and stone, Allen sculpts abstract forms and makes them available to the casual passerby at non-museum prices. Allen also creates sculptural furniture and accessories--beautiful polished bowls, distinctive stools, and simple, rich walnut tables. Allen's pieces share display space with the work of other talented artists (like the beautiful felt accessories of Kelly Mulloy) and the store also plays host to workshops held by artists in skills like wood carving and felting.
