Schoolhouse Electric

If you were to ask the average person what kind of lighting they like, 1900-1950 American schoolhouse-style lighting would probably not enter into the conversation. With a few more years of Schoolhouse Electric spreading its message, who knows? Begun when the owner discovered molds for classic early 20th century lighting in a New York warehouse, the store makes period-appropriate lighting fixtures in its Portland factory. Several dozen shades and fixtures are available in a variety of colors and finishes, all at rather reasonable prices. Many are as expected, "antique looking" pieces, others are gleaming examples of deco lighting at its best. Other pieces possess clean lines and would furnish a wonderful historic flavor to a modern space.
