Seven

Seven has an uncanny ability to find designers that march to the beat of their own drum. From Belgium and Japan, Germany and New York, they find creations that pay little attention to the trends and looks of the season. Some pieces scream: white nylons with a green stripe or a sweater dress knit to resemble a giant box of fries. Other pieces whisper: a gray herringbone coat brought in at the waist with delicate folds or a brown-topped, black-skirted wool dress with a knit skirt that resembles thick black lace. But they all say the same thing: there's a lot more to fashion than that seen in popular magazines and high-end department store racks.
